Since Thanksgiving Skiers and riders have enjoyed Snowmass mountain and Aspen mountain terrain, now this weekend all four mountains will open for riding. Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands complete the awesome four, Aspen Ski Shops will be flat out providing Ski Rentals Aspen wide.

Last weekend the fastest women on skis were present in Aspen and it was amazing!  Every year these women roll into town and give it their all on Aspen Mountain.  I doubt any of those women got their skis from a local aspen ski shop.

There was fresh snow the fell last night, 3 inches on Aspen Mountain and 1 inch on Snowmass Mountain and I am now headed over to my friend’s Ski Rental Aspen shop to get some great equipment and get out there to enjoy some of this fresh snow!

Yup, it’s already August, that means we’ll be seeing snow in a short month and a half.  Crazy I know, but for those of us who have been enjoying the summer it seems quick.  I will say that the changing of the seasons always seems to come at the right time.  I know I’m always ready for it, and I know my buddies over at our local Aspen ski shop are ready as well.  I wonder if we all have S.A.D.D. (Season Attention Deficit Disorder), meaning we get pining for that next season, luckily right as the new season comes along.  Can’t wait.

Summer sure feels like it is here – sun is shining, birds are chirping, and the sprinklers are on in everyones yard.  Got to have a green lawn, even though we live in a high desert. The local Aspen ski shops have become aspen bike shops, although if you really want to talk skis and snowboards I’m sure you could find someone to do so.  The bike trails have almost completely dried out and they should be opening the gondola at Aspen Mountain and Snowmass Mountain’s shortly.  My brother and his girlfriend have been working the trails pretty hard since the beginning of May.  If you don’t have a bike or would like to try something different make sure to get into one of the ski shops aspen and ask for some aspen ski rentals, sorry I mean bike rentals.

As the economic recovery remains uncertain and any extra cash in your pocket is great it makes it difficult to justify buying that $1000 pair of skis, even though they are nice and wide, and rockered, and have sweet graphics.  It wouldn’t be as big an issue if you skied more than 5 days a year.  Well you don’t have deprive yourself of this new technology, when you go on vacation call up your local aspen ski shop and they will no doubt have what you are looking for to rent.  It will be all waxed, tuned and ready to go for you.  The aspen ski rentals will make your vacation that much easier and will not nearly dent your wallet like buying these skis would be.

Ajax (Aspen Mountain) is definitely an advanced skiers mountain, and even those skiers with experience know that accidents happen. Even with all the tools and training, snow-packs are unpredictable, and avalanches are a common occurrence, especially after the type of winter we’ve had here in our little slice of paradise. Talk in the ski rental shops Aspen, CO as of late has been about skiers and snowboarders ducking lines to go after back country terrain, and either becoming lost or caught in an avalanche, resulting in the parties requiring rescue. In any case, people sometimes forget that those Ski Patrol and Response Teams and police aren’t impervious to harm, and they too are putting a lot on the line to come to your aid. Before setting out on a long day of freestyle riding, gather the correct equipment and information. Spring Break crowds are getting ready to arrive in a few weeks as the local Aspen ski shops are getting calls about reservations, ski equipment and conditions here in the Valley. It’s always fun to see new faces, see more people shopping and experiencing the beauty that the valley has to offer, hearing dialects/languages from all over the country and world. Ski rentals in Aspen, CO will be seeing long lines in the upcoming weeks, and the slopes and eateries are sure to be filled as eager college students, families and avid skiers look forward to one of the last chances to catch a lift this season…

Aspen Snowmass just saw a ton of snow come down. It had been a while since we had seen substantial snow and it got everyone really excited. The lines out the local Aspen Ski Shops were very long, everyone was trying to get big fat powder skis for the 24-30 inches that fell.

We all had a great day out there, skiing in waist deep powder is something that everyone should do once in a lifetime and it got everyone talking at the shops when they returned their aspen ski rentals

How do these guys and gals continue to up the anty when it comes to the tricks they do.  Levi Lavalle almost taking a snowmobile on the lap, Shaun White taking a bite out of the top of the half pipe, these guys are nuts, trying to drive the sport further at incredible speeds.  The games replayed on all the local aspen ski shops and will be continued to be talked about in the aspen ski rental lines.  And why shouldn’t they be, it was incredible.  Friday night brought over 20,000 people to town.

Could this be the storm?  Is this the beginning of the winter season?  Two weeks ago there was a week of snow, nothing much stuck.  The following two weeks brought warm and mild weather which wiped out all snow below 9500 feet.  This was good though, the ground had not had a chance to freeze up so come march it would have melted very quickly.  We are due for snow the next couple of nights.  It has gotten colder out and the ground is hardening up and of course the womens world cup is coming to Aspen, which always means snow.  Just take a look at the downtown Aspen Ski shops, you’ll see them preparing for the impending snow!
